PK Carsport ready for the Nascar Whelen Euro Series

PK Carsport proudly presents its programme in the Nascar Whelen Euro Series 2014. Anthony Kumpen and Bert Longin will compete in the Elite 1-championship and will be joined by Maxime Dumarey for the Elite 2-championship.
It has been known for some time that Bert Longin and Anthony Kumpen are eager to embark on their Nascar Whelen Euro Series adventure. That Maxime Dumarey will team up with them for the six spectacular races of the championship is hot news though. Born in the east of Flanders, this 25-year old can pride on some experience in the Nascar series, since he entered in some US-races a few years ago, on top of demonstrating his skills in some Belgian championships. And what’s more is that the last seat in the Elite 2 (or ‘Open’) championship triggered a clever approach within PK Carsport.
Anthony Kumpen: “Everything we do with PK Carsport is with the highest ambition. Same for this season. Both in the Elite 1 as the Elite 2 championship, we want to battle for victory. In the Open championship though, we have opted for the strategy to offer a chance to multiple drivers to get a taste of this Nascar Whelen Euro Series championship. In short, this means that the car will be handed over to a different driver every race. One of those drivers will be Jerry De Weerdt, who built up some Nascar experience in the past. Talks are on-going with several other drivers who would be a good match in our team, so expect more news in the future."
“Obviously we have to thank all our partners in this project", says Kumpen. “And luckily they are plenty. Car #11 will defend the colours of CPL Trans, Vanreeth and Carconnex, long-standing partners of Bert and PK Carsport. Car #24 welcomes Ridley, next to Carconnex and Herock. Working in such a demanding environment requires the right equipment in order to achieve the best result. Herock can offer the guarantee to provide the most suitable equipment for every job you can imagine. The perfect fit for a team competing at the highest level of the car racing sport!"
“I can hardly wait", concludes a smiling Bert Longin . “Our cars were already put to the test with a roll-out in Zolder and three testing days in Brands Hatch and Francorchamps. Before heading to the first race weekend in Valencia, the agenda shows two further test days: one in Zolder and one in Valencia itself. Despite this, the start of the championship will be a trial, but hopefully no error! We have really done our utmost to be as prepared as possible for the start of the Nascar Whelen Euro Series!"
